JAMAICA: Jamaica Fire Brigade To Increase Investigative Capacity
RJR News / The Jamaica Fire Brigade and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) are to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will strengthen the capacity of the Brigade to forensically investigate fires.             Sean Martin, Assistant Commissioner of the Fire Brigade, made the disclosure at a JIS Think Tank on Tuesday.    The terms of reference for the agreement are being finalised.      Mr. Martin said the Fire Brigade and the Police Forensic Laboratory work together informally to investigate fires. However, the MOU will formalise the partnership and allow for more fire personnel to be trained in this area.    The Fire Brigade assistant commissioner called for insurance companies to partner in boosting the investigative efforts.         Mr. Martin said there have been suspicions that persons are deliberately setting fire to their properties to collect on insurance policies.
