The high cost of worrying
News day / Unfortunately, unnecessary expenses can negatively impact our health and general well-being, which if not effectively managed, can also contribute to lifestyle diseases.

Worrying is indeed an unnecessary expense, and also a common characteristic in many, and rightly so, due to the rigours of daily living.

However, the most regrettable aspect of worrying, is that many individuals worry to a larger extent about things that are unknownÂ… which are categorised as events which they think may occur, but may never even happen if harnessed in a timely manner.

Scientific research has proven, that constant worrying is a major contributor to stress-related diseases; it also affects our physical and mental health.

Also, if left unnoticed, it is likely to become cyclic through self-perpetuation of negative thinking. It is one thing to worry, but it is more prudent to be concerned about treating with issues logically whether known or unknown.

Worrying which is heavily aligned to fear and anxiety, involves continuous pondering over an issue(s) without exercising logical thinking and identifying alternatives to treat with the particular situation.

Being concerned on the other hand, requires identifying a Plan A and a Plan B with the capability of providing solutions to the said problems.

Quoting from the preface of the book Worry and Its Psychological Disorders: Theory Assessment and Treatment authored by both Dr Graham C L Davey, expert in anxiety and Professor of Psychology at the University of Sussex, UK and Dr Adrian Wells, Professor of Clinical and Experimental Psychopathology at the University of Manchester, UK – states, "despite the normality of worry, it can become a pervasive daily activity and develops a host of features that make it disabling and a source of extreme discomfort." Putting an end to the worrying cycle may be challenging but not impossible.

Given that worrying may be unavoidable, start with appointing some time within a specific day or even in week which you can use to ponder about a particular issue(s), and during that process, also identify some short-term solutions to address the problems at hand.

Always attempt to be conscious of both your domestic and corporate environment, as the issues which are contributing to the worry, more than likely would emerge from either of these. Though worrying can be deemed life-threatening depending on the circumstances, it is advisable to accept the worry with caution and prudence, understanding that a resolution is possible.

Maintaining an engaging disposition is also a great source of comfort, as your mind becomes renewed, and that renewal may also present solutions which you may not have thought about initially. Meditation is also an excellent medium for logical thinking and introspection.

Research has shown that meditation reduces anxiety levels.

Exercise is another strategy known to combat worry spells.

We live in a world where worry is inevitable, but at the same time, we must preserve our lives through wisdom, and therefore, we need to begin converting our worry into prudent thinking.

Gonzalo Morales cree Que Viene Un Gran Apagón.

Gonzalo Morales presidente de la Academia Nacional de la Ingeniería y el Hábitat aseguró que la llegada de los apagones es inminente. Gonzalo Morales Insistió en la necesidad regular para solventar el problema eléctrico. Gonzalo Morales dijo: "Eso tiene que venir, el apagón es un racionamiento si se hace como debe ser, una manera regulada puede que la población sufra menos, pero de que vienen los apagones vienen". Gonzalo Morales cree que una solución mecánica, una solución de ingeniería no la hay porque si tú me cierras una compuerta, me tiene que abrir otra igualita, igualita y de manera sincronizada, entonces hay un déficit y eso se va a ver y rogar para que cuando las lluvias regresen, regresen con suficiente intensidad". Gonzalo Morales afirma que el haber déficit en El Guri y en su reemplazo de las plantas que podría suplir las cantidades deficitarias lo que crea en la emergencia en el país hay que tomar medidas excepcionales. Informó Gonzalo Morales que Planta Centro es deficitaria y hay que hacer un reacondicionamiento muy importante, Gonzalo Morales sentenció: Tacoa es más operativa pero no está 100%.

Gonzalo Morales aseveró que justificar la crisis eléctrica con el aumento de la población y problemas climáticos es inaceptable. Gonzalo Morales afirmó que El Guri ha bajado su nivel y en consecuencia no puede suplir la cantidad de megavatios que generalmente puede generar, o sea que es deficitaria y los reemplazos y digamos que las plantas termoeléctricas que podrían suplirlo, no están disponibles en las cantidades necesarias. Gonzalo Morales acotó"El gobierno tiene que aprender a planificar a futuro, esa es la tragedia de Venezuela, que no es solamente es en la parte eléctrica sino en otras cosas más, y en el agua es igual, o sea que el problema fundamental es planificar a futuro y para tu planificar tienes que tener siempre el financiamiento y las medidas económicas necesarias", sostuvo.
